Ohorongo conducts brick-making training in Rundu

RUNDU, 09 MAR (NAMPA) – Forty-six people from Kavango East and Kavango West received brick-making training in Rundu on Thursday and Friday.
The trainees received one day of theoretical training and one day of practical training through the countrywide initiative sponsored by Ohorongo Cement and Build it.
Ohorongo Marketing Manager, Carina Sowden told Nampa at the event the training is aimed at capacitating community members with the skills to manufacture quality bricks.
The trainees received certificates of attendance and manuals to guide them on how to manufacture bricks.
Bonifasius Kahare, a representative from the Office of the Kavango East Governor, commended Ohorongo and Build it for the initiative.
“This will create a market in future. Bricks are needed to improve our shelters, build our shops, schools and health facilities,” said Kahare.
A representative of Build it, Hermanus van Wyk, said the company decided to partner with Ohorongo to, amongst others, help people become self-employed.
The regions to benefit from the training next are Hardap, //Kharas and Zambezi.
