Rukoro leads NFA team to Caf Women’s football symposium

WINDHOEK, 05 MAR (NAMPA) – Namibia Football Association (NFA) Secretary-General, Barry Rukoro leads the Namibian delegation to the first-ever Confederation of African Footfall (Caf) Women’s Football Symposium in Marrakech, Morocco from Monday to Wednesday.
Rukoro is accompanied by Titus Kunamuene and Jacky Gertze as NFA representatives, while the NFA Women’s Desk General Manager, Jacqui Shipanga, is also attending as an International Federation of Football Associations (Fifa) delegate.
According to a media release availed to Nampa on Monday, the symposium, which takes place under the theme ‘Raising Our Game’, is expected to chart a new course for the development of women’s football on the continent.
The theme will also define the future of the women’s game with various stakeholders expected to exchange ideas and knowledge towards raising the standard.
Each member association is represented by three delegates.
There is also representation from players - both former and current - referees, coaches, media, as well as experts from Fifa and other confederations.
A plenary session will be attended by Caf President, Ahmad Ahmad and Fifa General Secretary, Fatma Samoura, amongst others.
Participants will be split into seven working groups to brainstorm on specialised topics within the realms of their expertise.
The resolutions of the various working groups will then be presented to the Caf executive committee for review and implementation.
