The city of Windhoek has allocated land to successful bidders for the development of single residential houses and a combined 300 Erven have been approved.
Over 200 successful bidders will soon be new home owners as the city council has also approved allocation of 206 new single residential zoned Erven.
These are to be allocated as per approved alienation methods, being, private treaty, offer to purchase and tender methods to first time buyers and natural persons.
The sale of the Erven was also made possible through the Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects with locally based companies, Acacia Investments and Ino Investment Holding (PVTY) Ltd who had to provide the necessary funds for the installation of bulk infrastructure.
The city said it had to embrace the PPP method as it is amongst the workable solutions to improving the pace of serviced land in the city.
