OUTAPI, 25 FEB (NAMPA) – Swapo Party Secretary General (SG), Sophia Shaningwa on Saturday vowed to withdraw political office bearers found guilty of ignoring or failing to implement resolutions taken by her party.
Shaningwa issued the warning during her address at the official opening of the Anamulenge Open Market at Outapi in the Omusati Region.
She indicated that some Swapo political office bearers in the local and regional authorities are failing the nation by not implementing the resolutions taken during the party’s congress.
According to the SG, these office bearers have a national duty to ensure that nobody dies of hunger in the country.
She also used the same platform to demand teamwork and commitment towards the development of Namibia and its people.
“I am going to monitor you closely, and I will not hesitate to call you to order or withdraw you if you are not complying with the party resolutions or recommendations.
“We are not going to tolerate the misuse of public property any longer. See to it that we use public resources optimally and for the purposes they are intended rather than for our own benefit,” she said.
Governor of the Omusati Region, Erginus Endjala and Chairperson of the Omusati Regional Council, Modestus Amutse were among the officials who attended the inauguration event.
