Vital Health Foods has issued a recall of it’s Mini Corn Cakes and Mini Rice Cakes due to a metal fragment having been found in one of the packages and the product has been removed from retail outlets in Namibia.

When The Villager approached Dis-Chem Grove Mall, a shop assistant said that the product had been taken off the shelves two days past.

“We just got an order from the warehouse to remove the product because there was a problem which was found with them,” he said.

Vital Health Foods is the largest vitamin and nutritional supplement company in Africa, with its head office in Cape Town.

The company has called out to consumers to return these two products in any pack size or flavor but with a Best Before date between 1 February 2018 and 31 August 2018 and get a refund or dispose of them.

However, Medicine World Namibia Eros Branch manager who identified himself only as J.P Marais said, although they have not had the Vital Mini Rice cakes for years, they would normally respond to a recall upon being issued with an official letter from the supplier first.
