WINDHOEK, 09 FEB (NAMPA) – Four men were arrested at Opuwo on Wednesday after they allegedly broke into a house there late in January and stole items valued at N.dollars 7 000.
Namibian Police Force Crime Investigations Coordinator for Kunene, Deputy Commissioner Rudolf Kanyetu told Nampa on Friday the items were stolen between 27 and 29 January this year.
The stolen items, which include a hotplate, freezer, home theatre system, shoes and a saw, were all recovered on the day of the suspects’ arrest.
The successful recovery of the items by the police came after the complainant recognised his shoes on another man’s feet on the street.
“He alerted the police and they acted promptly and recovered the rest of the items from the people to whom it was sold,” Kanyetu explained.
The suspects are due to appear in the Opuwo Magistrate’s Court.
