SHARUKWE, 08 FEB (NAMPA) – The Chairperson of the Swapo party leaders assigned to the Kavango West Region, Marco Hausiku has urged district executive members in the Ncuncuni constituency to unify in the run-up to next month’s by-election.
Hausiku, who is also the party’s Deputy Secretary General, said this on Thursday during a district executive meeting held here.
He said as the by-election nears, the district executives should stop fighting with each other and should instead fight for a common goal - ensuring that the party is victorious in the election.
“If you don’t work together, you will end up sinking the whole Swapo ship. I, therefore, urge you to stand up and work together,” pleaded Hausiku.
The Ncuncuni Constituency by-election was necessitated by the death of Councillor Rosa Kavara on 02 January 2018 and is scheduled to take place on 28 March 2018.
Candidates contesting to be elected to represent the party during the by-election include Ritha Sindjanga, Joseph Likoro, Felix Haingura, Silvia Siyiwo and Protasius Ihemba.
