Wanderers Squash Club will be hosting the second edition of its ladies’ open day this coming Saturday, club chairperson Steven Berry has announced.
The club hosted this event for the first time in 2017, with 54 ladies attending, out of which 33 of them joined as members of the club and 7 of them are now playing competitively in tournaments.
Berry says the aim of the event is to grow the number of female players: “Squash is a sport for anyone, whether you are young, old, male or female, it is the perfect sport for anyone to remain / become active,” he says.
Forbes magazine has rated squash as the healthiest sport in the world for two years running and is the perfect sport for burning calories, breaking a good sweat, socialising and having loads of fun, he adds.
