The incident took place on Thursday at the Omatha village in the Eenhana Constituency of the Ohangwena Region.
The deceased was on her way from school with two friends, when the suspect, who was hiding in a nearby bush, stopped her while her friends proceeded home.
Namibian Police (NamPol) Inspector Stephan Nuuyi told the media on Sunday the suspect then grabbed the victim and stabbed her three times.
