Okavango and Zambezi river water levels rising

RUNDU, 05 FEB (NAMPA) – Water levels in the Okavango River and Zambezi River are rising due to good rains received over the past few days.
This was revealed in the latest daily flood bulletin released by the Namibia Hydrological Service in the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry on Monday.
The bulletin said water levels at Nkurenkuru in the Kavango West Region increased over the weekend from 2.47 metres recorded on Sunday to 2.62 metres recorded on Monday.
At Rundu in the Kavango East Region, water levels increased from 4.87 metres to 4.93 metres this week.
The water level of the Zambezi River at the Katima Mulilo station was 2.23 metres on Monday and remains higher than in the same period last year.
Last year during the same period, the Zambezi River stood at 2.04 metres.
