Environment and tourism minister Pohamba Shifeta has allayed fears that the latest Cholera and Hepatitis E outbreaks may not have immediate devastating effects on the country’s fledgling township tourism.
This comes in the wake of the health and social services ministry confirming that a cholera outbreak has hit Windhoek.
“This does not immediately affect tourism at this stage. We have not heard of any cancelations, we are monitoring this with keen interest,” said the minister.
Gondwana Collection public relations officer Inke Stoldt also confirmed that they have not yet been made uneasy by the outbreaks since their properties are not in Windhoek.
