Man dies after being stabbed in Windhoek

WINDHOEK, 28 JAN (NAMPA) – A 37-year-old man died after being stabbed in the neck in Windhoek on Saturday night.
The incident in which Lugambo Natangwe lost his life occurred at a bar in the Hakahana settlement, the weekly crime report issued by the Namibian Police Force on Sunday said.
It is not known what led to the attack.
The suspect fled the scene and has not yet been arrested.
Meanwhile, also in Windhoek, the 45-year-old Josef Fillemon was hit on the forehead with a hammer and died on the spot in Babylon on Saturday.
The two men had been fighting and Fillemon allegedly hit his attacker with the hammer.
The suspect however overpowered Fillemon, took the hammer from him and used it to hit him on the forehead.
The suspect has been admitted to the Katutura State Hospital with head injuries and a broken arm.
In Otjomuise, the 47-year-old Willem Basson allegedly shot his 48-year-old girlfriend with a revolver on Saturday.
Willem then went to his home where he shot and killed himself. The victim was rushed to the Katutura State Hospital for medical treatment.
The motives for both the attempted murder and suicide are not known.
Meanwhile in Mariental, a 21-year-old woman was assaulted before being raped by a male suspect aged 30 on Saturday.
It is alleged that the suspect stabbed the victim in the back of her head, forcefully dragged her to his residence and had sexual intercourse with her against her will. The suspect has been arrested and police investigations continue.
