RUNDU, 27 JAN (NAMPA) – Vice President Nickey Iyambo fainted during the burial of former Cabinet minister, Rosalia Nghidinwa at Nkurenkuru on Saturday.
Iyambo collapsed while seated in the tent meant for dignitaries while Nghidinwa’s casket was being lowered into the ground.
He was rushed out of the tent by bodyguards.
Nampa could not establish which hospital Iyambo was taken to as attempts to get comment from the Governor of the Kavango West Region, Sirkka Ausiku failed.
The vice president also collapsed in 2016, shortly after addressing a belated Heroes' Day celebration at Tsumeb.
Oshikoto governor Henock Kankoshi at the time said Iyambo fainted because he had not had anything to eat.
