The Namibian Police has plans to tighten the control of firearm sales to individuals following concerns over the neglect by gun owners.
This comes the Iimbili Combined School shooting in which an 11 year old shot another learner at the school, with a gun belonging to his grandfather who now faces charges of negligent handling of a firearm.
Gun owners in Namibia are neglecting rules that have been put in place to safe guard firearms and also fail to report lost firearms, deputy commissioner of Firearms Control Division Ignatius Nangombe said.
