WINDHOEK, 24 JAN (NAMPA) - A 27-year-old man was arrested by the City Police on Wednesday after he was found in possession of stolen drilling and farming equipment.
The equipment, as well as a television and generator, were stolen from a home workshop in the Brakwater area Tuesday night by three men.
City Police Spokesperson Edmund Khoaseb told Nampa the homeowners reported a break-in at their workshop early on Wednesday.
The City Police managed to trace one of the suspects to a local car dealership, where he was arrested at around 10h00.
“The suspect then took us to his residence, where we managed to recover all the stolen goods,” Khoaseb said.
He added that the owners positively identified their property and a case was to be opened with the Namibian Police. The police are yet to trace his accomplices.
Khoaseb called on home and business owners to improve their security and cooperate with the City Police to help combat theft.
