The Ministry of Veteran Affairs has funded N$250 534 618. 07 worth of Individual Veterans Projects (IVP) during 2016/17 financial year, it has confirmed this week.
Spokesperson Edson Haufiku told The Villager that the common IVPs were only funded and that no funds are given directly to veterans.
At least 1 281 IVPs were funded during the 2016/17 financial year.
“As soon as the veterans' board approves the applications of projects to be funded, the ministry look at the type of projects and send the veterans to places where they can acquire material for their projects. And after they secure a receipt for the material they submit it to the ministry and we look at it and pay for the project materials,” he said.
