NSFAF new board inaugurated

WINDHOEK, 17 JAN (NAMPA) – The new board of directors of the Namibia Students Financial Assistance Fund (NSFAF) was inaugurated here on Wednesday.
It includes Jerome Mutumba as its chairperson, deputised by Christina Swart-Opperman.
Other members include Stephen Tjiuoro, Ananias Abner, Adda Angula, Natascha Cheikhyoussef, Isak Neema and Tulimeke Munyika.
Making the announcement at the inauguration at a media briefing in the capital, Minister of Higher Education, Training and Innovation Itah Kandjii-Murangi said the board is expected to provide clear, effective guidance and leadership to the affairs of NSFAF.
“I expect the board to take correct and decisive actions to improve NSFAF governance, service delivery, and restore students, parents, staff and public trust in the fund,” she added.
She further called on the new board to look at relevant processes that are needed to expedite the transformation of NSFAF and to ensure that the transformation processes do not negatively affect service delivery.
The board consists of expertise in various areas such as the legal field, business transformation, human resources and finance, among others.
The newly inducted eight-member board will serve for the next three years.
