The Otjiwarongo Secondary School has been caught in a racial storm over its hygiene rules dating back to the colonial times that restrict black and coloured students from wearing certain hair-styles.

An aggrieved parent anonymously wrote an emotive letter to The Villager saying that although the rules have just been dismantled, black and coloured students had suffered racial slurs from white students for wearing Rasta-locks.
