Malawian man found in possession of 12 Methamphetamine bags

WINDHOEK, 27 DEC (NAMPA) – A Malawian man was arrested on Friday after being found in possession of 12 bags of Methamphetamine (Tik).
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s crime report issued on Tuesday stated that the 31-year-old suspect who was arrested at a guest house in Oshikango, allegedly entered the country through Kalahari border post on Thursday.
He was found with 26.21 kilograms of the drug, with an estimated street value of N.dollars 13 103 000.
The suspect appeared on Wednesday before the Ohangwena Magistrate’s Court, NamPol confirmed.
Police investigations continue.
In Keetmashoop meanwhile, 20-year-old Ernst Isak Willems, an epileptic patient, drowned on Sunday while swimming at Fish River near farm Driebos Doring.
The victim’s body has been recovered and his next of kin have been informed.
In Ogongo in the Omusati Region, an inquest docket has been opened over the death of a 67-year-old Maligareta Kadhila, whose body was found floating in a water canal there on Sunday.
It is alleged that the deceased was dropped off from a wedding by her son at around 21h00 on Saturday but she never reached home.
No foul play is suspected and the next of kin have been informed.
Police investigations continue.
