Shoome accorded State funeral

WINDHOEK, 18 DEC (NAMPA) - The Government has accorded the late liberation struggle icon, Major Isak Shoome a State funeral.
Neville Andre, the Personal Assistant to Secretary to Cabinet, George Simataa, confirmed this in an interview with Nampa on Monday.
The late Shoome will be laid to rest at Omugulugwombashe in the Omusati Region on Saturday.
A State funeral means Government arranges the burial and covers all funeral costs.
Shoome passed away at the age of 101 at his Tsandi homestead on 12 December 2017.
He was a Omugulugwombashe veteran. He was one of the first recruits of the first military training centre named Ondaadhi (reconnaissance) established at Ontamanzi in March 1966.
