WINDHOEK, 18 DEC (NAMPA) – A Swapo Party delegation led by Central Committee member and parliamentarian, Paula Kooper, is attending the African National Congress (ANC) congress currently underway in Johannesburg, South Africa.
This was confirmed by Swapo party Director of Administration for SWAPO France Kaudinge upon Nampa’s inquiry on Monday.
“Swapo Party is always represented at events like these and the delegate sent over is very much trustworthy,” Kaudinge said.
The 54th National Conference which commenced on Saturday is expected to end on Wednesday.
The party is expected to elect new leadership and according to South African media reports, delegates started voting on Sunday night.
Among the new leadership positions is the party presidential position for which contenders Cyril Ramaphosa and Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma will be contesting.
The Swapo Party held its elective congress last month, at which the ANC was also represented and a solidarity message delivered.
