WINDHOEK, 14 DEC (NAMPA)- Public Service Employees Medical Aid Scheme (PSEMAS) contracted health professional service providers have been paid on time, Methealth Namibia Administrators Chief Executive Officer, Florian Amulungu has said.
This is in response to an incident in which a foreign doctor allegedly caused havoc at Methealth Namibia Administration offices in Windhoek on Tuesday, due to alleged delayed payment of services rendered to PSEMAS clients.
In an interview with Nampa on Thursday, Amulungu said as per the contract, health care providers are paid 30 days after submitting their claim forms.
“The last claims paid was for 15 November this year,” said Amulungu.
He emphasised that the providers always get notifications by Methealth of the cut-off date to ensure that all their claims are submitted on time.
“This year’s cut-off date is 18 December and we have already sent notifications to all the health care providers to submit their claims on time,” he said.
