EPALELA, 13 DEC (NAMPA) - Liberation struggle icon, Major Isak Shoome, has died.
Shoome passed away at the age of 101 at his Tsandi homestead in the Omusati Region on Tuesday.
Omusati Governor Erginus Endjala announced this during the fish harvesting activity at Epapela near Ruacana on Wednesday.
My office is consulting to determine if Shoome will be accorded a heros or state funeral, he added.
A moment of silence in honour of Shoome was observed during the event.
Shoome was a Omugulugwombashe veteran. He was one of the first recruits of the first military training centre named 'Ondaadhi' (reconnaissance) established at Ontamanzi in March 1966.
