WINDHOEK, 3O NOV (NAMPA) – Twelve State House employees graduated from the Namibian College of Open Learning (Namcol) here on Thursday.
The graduates are administrative staff members.
They completed two-year certificate programmes in English Communication and Basic Computer Literacy.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Namcol Director Heroldt Murangi highlighted the importance of investing in human resources through learning and development programmes.
This, Murangi said, includes offering learning opportunities to civil servants in order to uphold the efficiency, professionalism and operational expertise in all Government offices, ministries and agencies.
He added that the programme is a partnership between the college and State House initiated in 2015, with the aim to provide professional and vocational training to its staff members.
“Namcol is humbled by the fact that the highest office in the land chose to partner with us in providing training for some of their employees, as it is important that Government officials at all levels are able to communicate effectively,” Muronga said.
The graduates declined to comment on their achievements when approached by Nampa.
