WINDHOEK, 29 NOV (NAMPA) The Namibian Police (NamPol) Womens Football Club (FC) and Tura Magic Ladies FC promised fans entertaining football when they meet in the 2017 Women Super Cup final in Gobabis on Saturday.
The two teams booked their places in the final following comfortable victories over V-Power Angels and Galz & Goals, respectively last weekend.
Addressing the media here on Wednesday, Emma Naris, Tura Magic vice-captain, said her team will showcase their magic.
She said the public will witness the best of womens football after a long absence of football.
Her coach, Shama Gure, also promised good football from her players, saying the two teams worked hard to be in the final.
Gure said all players are available for selection, adding that the availability of international player, Zenatha Coleman, has given his team extra motivation.
Zenatha is a special player and she raised the standard; her leadership qualities have shown as she keeps urging others to do well and she will have a major impact in the final game, he said.
NamPol coach, Novatha Paulus said her team had not trained after qualifying for the final due to work commitments and the unavailability of a training pitch.
That is not an excuse, as we have experienced players who will be able to rise to the occasion. We are not worried about Zenatha, as we have a secret player who will deal with her, she added.
Captain Maggie Paulus said they are itching to lay their hands on the trophy to present it to their regional commander as an early Christmas gift.
She paid tribute to Jacqueline Shipanga for her selflessness, after the former Brave Gladiators player and coach donated N.dollars 10 000 towards the tournament.
On Tuesday, Debmarine Namibia pledged N.dollars 20 000 and not N.dollars 10 000, as was stated in our earlier story.
The winner will now receive N.dollars 20 000, runners-up N.dollars 10 000, third-placed team N.dollars 6 000 and fourth-placed team N.dollars 4 000.
Meanwhile, V-Power Angels and Galz & Goals will meet on Wednesday afternoon at 17h00 in the third-place playoff match at the NFA Technical Centre.
