Woman raped at Mariental

WINDHOEK, 27 NOV (NAMPA) – A 25-year-old woman was allegedly raped at Mariental in the Hardap Region on Saturday morning.
According to a daily crime report issued by the Namibian Police on Monday, the victim allegedly went to the bush to urinate when four men approached her.
The victim ran but the men caught up with her and one of them allegedly had sexual intercourse with her without her consent and left her at the scene.
No arrests have been made and police investigations continue.
In a different case, Otja Mbaukua died in the Kunene Region at 06h10 on Saturday after the truck he was driving overturned.
The truck that had five occupants, overturned when the rear right tyre burst.
He died on the spot. The four others sustained serious to minor injuries and are admitted in the Outjo State Hospital.
In similar developments, a 28-year-old-man died when his car collided with a minibus at the traffic lights near Select Service Station in Ongwediva.
The deceased, identified as Matty Letu Naliuye Nghitula, was traveling with his girlfriend to Medipark Hospital at around 22h50 on Saturday when the incident occurred.
The woman did not sustain any injuries.
Meanwhile, police in Gibeon on Saturday arrested three men aged 21, 33 and 39 for allegedly stealing two sheep and slaughtering them.
The suspects allegedly stole the sheep valued at N.dollars 3 000 from the kraal at Farm Soutput and went to slaughter them at Aniskobeb.
The carcasses were not recovered and police continue to investigate.
