Woman found dead under bridge in Khomasdal

WINDHOEK, 19 NOV (NAMPA) – The lifeless body of an unknown woman was found under a bridge next to the Khomasdal cemetery on Friday morning.
The weekly crime report issued by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) on Sunday said the body was found lying on a blanket under the bridge along Florence Nightingale Street at about 11h00.
The police said no external injury was found on the body and no foul play is suspected at this stage, but an autopsy will be carried out to determine the cause of death.
The deceased’s next of kin have not yet been informed.
Meanwhile, also on Friday, a member of the Namibian Defence Force (NDF) allegedly collapsed and died in front of Furniture Mart along Independence Avenue in Windhoek.
The deceased, identified as Salomo Tuyoleni, 51, was allegedly walking past the furniture store when he collapsed and died at about 11h20.
The cause of death is not yet known and his next of kin are informed.
In the Kunene Region, NamPol is investigating the death of 30-year-old Martin Michael who allegedly died while fixing a vehicle at Okahirongo Elephant Lodge at Puros in the Sesfontein area.
The police said an employee found the man man’s lifeless body between the vehicle and the wall of staff accommodation at about 07h00 on Friday.
The deceased, whose next of kin have been informed, is said to have been a mechanic at the lodge.
A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
NamPol also recorded two cases of murder over the past weekend in Rehoboth and Ongwediva.
Three suspects, two women, both aged 47, and a 58-year-old man were arrested at a residence in Block C in connection with the Rehoboth man’s death.
The man, identified as Theodore Gotthard Zabel, was allegedly stabbed with an unknown object on the left side of his chest and died on the spot.
The incident occurred at about 22h30 on Friday and his next of kin are informed.
Ndeumona Raulisius Johannes Naukala, 50, was also allegedly stabbed to death in the chest at the Uufuleta Cucashop at Oshapumbu village in Ongwediva on Saturday.
The incident occurred at around 20h00 after the suspect, 51, allegedly suspected the deceased of dating his girlfriend and stabbed him.
The deceased’s next of kin have been informed and police investigations continue.
