The gala dinner was aimed at raising funds for the partys national congress to be held here later this month.
The countrys President and Swapo Party presidential candidate, Hage Geingob, accompanied by Prime Minister, Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila and Swapo secretary general, Nangolo Mbumba attended the dinner.
Mbumba outlined the importance of the fundraising dinner, adding that the funds will be supporting all activities during the congress.
Geingob meanwhile, emphasised the importance of team work within the party, urging party members to all participate and to avoid exclusivity during the congress.
Inclusivity always leads to success, however exclusivity causes chaos and separation. We should therefore avoid the spirit of division within the party.

The auction, which included a portrait of the two former party presidents and candidate Geingob as well as clothing, raised an amount of about N.dollars 282 750, with the highest bid recorded for the trios portrait at N.dollars 76 000.
About 500 tickets to the gala dinner were sold, raking in N.dollars 500 000.
