MoE cautions learners to ignore Grade 10 exam SMS

WINDHOEK, 11 NOV (NAMPA) - The Ministry of Education (MoE) has cautioned learners who sat for the 2013 Grade 10 examinations, to ignore a text message which is being circulated about the purported rewriting of the examinations.
The Public Relations Officer in the MoE, Johanna Absalom said in a media statement issued here on Monday that there is an SMS (short message service) circulating, claiming that the examination offices of the MoE has burned down.
In the SMS, learners are advised to go back to their schools to rewrite the examinations.
It further said the minister wants all candidates to go back to their schools and rewrite the examination on 12 November 2013, and candidates who seek more information can call the Minister of Education at 061-220354/0818560037.
Absalom assured all learners, parents, guardians, teachers and members of the public that the SMS content is false and unfounded.
She said the Director of National Examinations and Assessment in the MoE, Cavin Nyambe has confirmed that everything is well at the examination office.
