WINDHOEK, 14 NOV A 20-year-old man was arrested for the alleged rape of a young woman at the Omuhama village in the Kunene Region at around 01h30 on Monday.
According to the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) daily crime report released on Tuesday, the suspect allegedly entered the room of the 21-year-old victim and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
Meanwhile the police in Oshikoto are investigating an incident where a 23-year-old woman was allegedly also raped while sleeping in her room on Monday.
An adult male allegedly entered the victims room, switched on the lights and threatened to kill her holding a sharp object around her neck, before forcefully having sexual intercourse with the victim.
The incident happened at around 03h00.
No arrest has been made in the matter.
In an unrelated incident, a 34-year-old man hit his two-year-old daughter with a vehicle while reversing out of the yard where she was playing at the Ompulungu village in Onayena on Monday.
The girl, who was taken to the Onayena clinic, sustained serious injuries and was transferred and admitted to the Onandjokwe Hospital.
In another case, a Government ambulance hit a cow that suddenly entered the road on the B1 about ten kilometres from the Gibeon junction.
The driver, a nurse and three patients all escaped unharmed.
The police in the Oshana Region meanwhile are seeking information on the whereabouts of a stolen silver sedan.
The vehicle that belongs to a 29-year-old man and is registered as a taxi, was stolen from the owners residence at Queen Flats at the old Ongwediva.
No arrests have been made in connection with the theft.
In a different matter, the Oshikuku police have reported the death of Aina Lazarus, 50, who hanged herself with a belt from the roof of her sleeping room.
The victim was allegedly last seen on Saturday.
No suicide note was found and no foul play is suspected. Her next of kin were informed.
