17-year-old arrested for murder

WINDHOEK, 13 NOV (NAMPA) – A 17-year-old boy was arrested on Friday over the death of 35-year-old Johannes Mokhatu in Gobabis on Friday.
The Namibian Police Force crime report issued on Sunday said the suspect and victim were drinking alcohol at the Kanaan A informal settlement in Epako, when an argument broke out between the two.
The suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed Mokhatu once in the back. He died on the spot.
In an unrelated case, the Okatope Police Station reported the death of Toini Nakanyala, 78, who was found hanging from the roof of her sleeping hut with a rope around her neck at the Okaluwa village in the Oshikoto Region on Saturday. Her daughter made the discovery at about 11h00.
In a separate incident, a 25-year-old man is receiving medical attention at the Oshakati State Hospital after sustaining serious injuries in a fight with two men on Friday.
They were allegedly fighting over beers at a bar in the Omatando village in Ongwediva.
The incident happened at around 02h00.
