Danie Joubert Combined School's best learners honoured

MARIENTAL, 12 NOV (NAMPA) – The Danie Joubert Combined School in Mariental on Thursday rewarded learners in grades 4 to 7 who performed exceptionally over the academic year.
Speaking during the ceremony, outgoing Head-Girl, Gloria Hijamutiti had praise for the teachers, saying “I would like to take this opportunity and thank all the teachers for being there for us. Your patience, love and commitment did not go unnoticed.”
She congratulated the learners who received certificates for their achievements and said their hard work paid off.
The head girl motivated and encouraged those who missed out on the awards, urging them to work harder next year and set targets to reach their goals.
Learners who achieved 60 to 74 per cent received certificates for constant and conscientious work, while excellent and scholastic achievement awards were given to those who scored 75 per cent and above.
The top two learners in Grade 4 were Leandra Eelu and Megan Tsaitsaib.
Eelu was also rewarded for being the top achiever in her class with 84 per cent as well as for the highest academic achievement in Grade 4.
Tsaitsaib received praise as the top achiever in her class with 81 per cent.
The Grade 5 top two learners were Mjay van Wyk and Ajay van Wyk.
Mjay achieved 84 per cent and was the top performer in the grade, while Ajay achieved 81 per cent.
Grade 6 top two learners were Keolebogile Olibile and Dehan von Watzdorf.
Olibile recorded 77 per cent, while Von Watzdorf achieved 73 per cent.
The top performer in Grade7 was Jason van Wyk with 81 per cent.
Principal Lappies Labuschagne thanked all sponsors that made the event possible.
