Child allegedly raped by domestic worker

WINDHOEK, 10 NOV (NAMPA) – An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a domestic worker at her home in the Ogongo Constituency at Okahao on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at Okathitukambada village at around 15h00.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) said in the daily crime report issued Friday the 20-year-old suspect, who is said to be an Angolan national, allegedly called the girl to his room and had sexual intercourse with her.
The suspect was arrested and police investigations into the matter continue.
In another incident, two women sustained injuries after they were shot by a 65-year-old man.
According to NamPol, the suspect allegedly accused the two women aged 31 and 37 of stealing his pistol magazine and then shot one woman in her left thigh and the other in her foot.
The incident occurred at Omufituwenkete village near Outapi on Wednesday at about 19h30.
“It is further alleged that the suspect was attacked and assaulted by members of the public and was admitted to the Outapi District Hospital where he is said to be in critical condition,” the statement said.
In the Omusati Region at Omutaku village, the body of a man identified as Shigwedha Immanuel, 61, was found in his bedroom by neighbours on Thursday at around 11h00.
The deceased was last seen on Tuesday.
The cause of death is unknown and a post-mortem will be conducted.
The deceased’s next of kin have been informed and police investigations into the matter continue.
