FNVA hosts club championships and awards ceremony

ONGWEDIVA, 09 NOV (NAMPA) – The Far Northern Volleyball Association (FNVA) is hosting club championships and its 2017 awards ceremony at the Ondangwa Tennis Club this weekend.
FNVA Secretary General, Maria Christian told Nampa on Thursday that their first awards ceremony took place in 2014.
Seven volleyball clubs affiliated to the FNVA will lock horns during the tournament for the top prize of N.dollars 2 000, gold medals and a floating trophy.
The second prize is N.dollars 1 500 and silver medals, while the third prize is N.dollars 1 000 and bronze medals.
The seven volleyball clubs are Six Stars, Oshana Namibian Police (NamPol), !Nakapele, Oshikoto NamPol, Namibian Army, Eenhana Vocational Training Centre (VTC) and Ongwediva MediPark.
“Oshana NamPol, !Nakapele, Six Stars, Namibian Army and Oshikoto NamPol are the clubs with both male and female teams,” Christian said.
The registration fee is N.dollars 500 per participating team.
The FNVA is mandated by the Namibian Volleyball Federation to manage and develop the sport of volleyball in all areas of northern Namibia.
