OTJIWARONGO, 09 NOV (NAMPA) - The Otjozondjupa police are seeking assistance in tracing the relatives of Marco Wolfgang Gellert, who allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself at Otjiwarongo in October 2011.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the region, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha told Nampa in an interview Thursday Gellert was buried the same year.
The pistol suspected to have been used in the shooting, is registered in the name of Gellert’s father.
“We have made numerous efforts to trace his relatives, but we did not succeed,” Mbeha said.
She said the investigations into this suicide have been completed and the pistol now needs to be claimed by the owner or his relatives.
Mbeha called on anyone with information on the whereabouts of Gellert's relatives to contact Detective Sergeant Thomas Shilongo at 081 736 6855 or the nearest police station.
