Two-month-old baby dies shortly after immunisation

WINDHOEK, 08 NOV (NAMPA) – An inquest docket into the death of a two-month-old baby was opened at the Oshivelo Police Station in the Oshikoto Region.
According to crime report issued by the Namibian Police Force on Wednesday, the baby was taken for immunisation on Monday at the Oshivelo clinic but died the following day at around 02h00 while in the care of the 31-year-old mother at the King Kauluma village.
The cause of death is not yet known and police investigations continue.
In an unrelated incident, police at the Wanahenda Police Station here are investigating the death of Frans Shevanyena, who was found hanging from the roof of his room with a rope around his neck.
Shevanyena’s body was found at around 08h00 on Tuesday in his room in the Havana settlement.
The motive for his death is unknown as no suicide note was left behind.
His next of kin have been informed.
