Neckartal Dam deceased identified

KEETMANSHOOP, 05 NOV (NAMPA) – The 43-year-old man who died at Neckartal Dam close to midnight on Saturday, has been identified as Andreas Ilonga.
The deceased’s family members were informed of his death on Sunday, Namibian Police //Kharas Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Chrispin Mubebo said the same day.
He told Nampa Ilonga was employed at the dam for a few weeks and that he originally was from Ontananga village in the Oshikoto Region.
The man died after falling off a building he was working on at the dam during the night shift.
Ilonga was employed by Hennima Investments, a Keetmanshoop-based company subcontracted by Salini Impregilo.
The Italian company is the main contractor on the //Kharas Region based Neckartal Dam project.
An inquest docket has been opened into the incident and police investigations continue.
