KEETMANSHOOP, 05 NOV (NAMPA) – A 43-year-old man died Saturday night after falling off a building he was working on at Neckartal Dam, located around the Fish River in the Berseba Constituency.
The man, who was employed by Hennima Investments, a Keetmanshoop-based company subcontracted by Salini Impregilo, died on duty whilst working the night shift.
The incident happened around 23h30 and no foul play is suspected, Namibian Police Force //Kharas Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Chrispin Mubebo confirmed on Sunday.
He told Nampa the deceased fell off the building and landed on an iron object.
He died on the spot.
His identity is known to the police, but is withheld until his next of kin are informed.
Hennima owner, Henry Jongwe, who has 378 workers on site, told Nampa he received the news of the incident and was rushing back to Neckartal and Keetmanshoop from elsewhere in the region.
“What happened is very sad, I feel sorry for the man. He only started working for us two weeks ago,” a shocked Jongwe said.
He said he would comment more once full details around the incident transpire.
Police investigations continue.
