OTAVI, 04 NOV (NAMPA) – Three people died on Friday when after the two sedans they were travelling in, collided with a truck outside Otavi.
The Namibian Police Force Crime Investigations Coordinator for the Otjozondjupa Region, Deputy Commissioner Naukalemo Andreas told Nampa on Saturday two men and one woman died in the crash.
The deceased are yet to be identified, she said.
Ten people, including the three deceased, were involved in the accident which occurred at around 17h45, approximately 10 kilometres north of Otavi.
Four occupants sustained serious injuries and were taken to the Tsumeb State Hospital.
It is alleged that the 50-year-old driver lost control over the truck he was operating, colliding head-on with the two sedans which were driving behind each other.
The truck was driving from the direction of Tsumeb to Otavi, while the two sedans were headed in the opposite direction.
Police investigations continue.
