RUNDU, 30 OCT (NAMPA) – A sensitisation seminar on the National Anti-Corruption Strategy and action plan for the Kavango East Region’s leadership will be held here on Thursday by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The Otjiwarongo office of the ACC’s Public Education and Corruption Prevention Directorate is organising the information-sharing seminar, said Chief Regional Officer of the Kavango East Region, Ludwig Thikusho in a statement issued on Sunday.
“The ACC has been firmly established as the leading institution to fight corruption in the country, thus programmes to prevent and to fight corruption have been developed and are being implemented,” he said, adding that the implementation of the strategic plan requires changed mindsets which see opportunities and possibilities for improvements.
“However, the job at hand can only be successfully done through teamwork. Everyone can and must contribute to the fight against corruption,” Thikusho stated.
ACC Deputy Director-General, Erna van der Merwe will give the introductory remarks while Senior Public Education and Corruption Prevention Officer, Linus Simataa will talk about fighting corruption.
Chief Public Education and Corruption Prevention Officer, Paulus Lyambezi will give an overview of the national anti-corruption strategy and plan, the development process as well as strategic, specific objectives and actions.
