Boy suffocates young brother with sand at Uuvudhiya

WINDHOEK, 28 OCT (NAMPA) – A six month old baby boy died at a water pan at the Iitota Village at the Uuvudhiya Constituency in the Omusati Region.
A daily crime report issued by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) on Friday said Etono Junias was found dead at about 10h00 on Wednesday after his five year old brother allegedly suffocated him with sand while their mother was busy fishing.
A post mortem will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
In another incident, a four year old girl was raped by a 31-year-old man at about 17h00 in the Mondesa area in Swakopmund on Wednesday.
It is alleged that the victim went to the neighbour’s house to play with another four year old toddler, when the suspect called them to his shack and allegedly raped the victim.
The suspect is expected to appear in court on Friday and police investigations continue.
A two-year-old boy at the Onaniki Village in Okahao was found dead by his mother in their room with a sleeping gown belt around his neck.
Police could not give details regarding the whereabouts of the mother at the time of the incident.
The deceased was identified as Ndakulilwa Meameno Amukwaya.
According to the police report, the incident happened on Thursday around 09h30.
Police at Ondangwa reported that the body of a 10-year old boy identified as Erickson Malulu was found with his private parts removed and his throat cut.
According to the police the boy’s body was found near the Ondangwa Military Base at about 11h30 on Thursday.
The 31-year-old mother of the deceased was arrested and further investigations continue.
