WINDHOEK, 27 OCT (NAMPA) – Katutura Central Constituency Councillor, Ambrosius Kandjii has applauded President Hage Geingob for his leadership skills, saying the Swapo party presidential candidate is a visionary leader who has achieved a lot during his presidency.
Speaking at a media briefing at the Katutura Community Hall in the capital on Friday, Kandjii said Geingob had created opportunities for all Namibians to acquire affordable houses across the entire country.
“He has put measures to control high rates and taxes in the entire country, while discouraging the situation where elders were losing houses due to outstanding rates and taxes, by increasing social grants for the elderly, orphans and disabled citizens by 100%,” he said.
Kandjii added that president Geingob’s leadership allowed disadvantaged communities to receive food rations through the popular and progressive food bank programme.
He went on to list some of Geingob’s achievements which include creating opportunities for the youth to be trained and integrated in the economic and social fabric of society.
“The president rallies the nation to unite for a common purpose in the drive to develop the country and its inhabitants and promote the country at various international platforms and forums,” said Kandjii.
The councillor highlighted that all that Geingob had achieved so far is a reflection of the leadership qualities that he possesses.
Kandjii’s remarks come at a time when the Swapo party is heading towards its 6th National Congress in November where they are expected to elect a substantive party leader, after Hifikepunye Pohamba vacated the position in 2015.
