WINDHOEK, 25 OCT (NAMPA) - No suspect has been arrested in connection with the death of a man whose body was discovered in a riverbed near the Okuryangava Stop ‘n Shop Supermarket in the capital about two weeks ago.
A statement availed to Nampa on Monday by Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Public Relations Officer, Chief Inspector Kauna Shikwambi said the body of Damian Gawaseb was found with four stab wounds: two on both sides of his ribcage and one on the neck.
Shikwambi said Gawaseb was last seen on 13 October 2017 at about 20h30 coming from a bar in the vicinity of the area where his body was found.
In a telephonic interview with Nampa on Monday, the deceased’s romantic partner, Celine Watsons, said she had not received any news from the police about the culprit or culprits responsible for Gawaseb’s death.
“Damian was a person who was full of life and who would not do harm to anyone,” said Watsons, expressing disbelief that someone would hurt somebody like that.
