Two deceased in Otjiwarongo-Kalkfeld accident identified

OTJIWARONGO, 25 OCT (NAMPA) - The two people who died in accident on the Otjiwarongo-Kalkfeld road Monday night, have been identified.
Namibian Police Force’s Otjozondjupa Regional Crime Investigations Co-ordinator, Deputy Commissioner Naukalemo Andreas told Nampa on Wednesday the deceased are Frans Layis Johannes and Regina Immanuel.
The 27-year-old Johannes was the driver of the vehicle, while Immanuel was a passenger.
They died instantly when they drove into two horses which were standing in the road and then collided with an oncoming pick-up vehicle carrying six people.
The police officer said they were driving from the direction of Otjiwarongo towards Kalkfeld when they drove into the horses, some 4 kilometres north of Kalkfeld.
Three of the injured persons were on Tuesday transferred to the capital for further medical attention, while three others remained at the Otjiwarongo State Hospital.
Both horses also died due to the severe impact.
