REHOBOTH, 16 OCT (NAMPA) – Brave Gladiators and Gintra-Universitetas striker, Zenatha Coleman relishes the chance of playing against Football Club (FC) Barcelona after the two clubs were on Monday drawn against each other in the (Uefa) Women’s Champion League Round of 16.
The Union of European Football Associations (Uefa) draw done in Nyon, Switzerland, will see defending champions and five-time winners, Lyon from France, face BIIK Kazygurt from Kazakhstan.
Speaking to Nampa via WhatsApp instant messaging service application on Monday, Coleman said the match against Barcelona is a dream come true for her and she cannot wait to come up against one of the best teams in women’s football.
“It won’t be an easy game, but that doesn’t mean we will make it easy for them. If I score or give an assist it will be very special and might change my life in many ways,” Coleman said.
The first-leg match is scheduled for 08 November and the second-leg game on 15 November.
She said all her teammates are excited and ready to play Barcelona, whom they wanted to play and beat in the Round of 16.
“It will be eleven against eleven and we won’t stand back and watch them.”
Although the competition is tough and very physical, her team, Gintra-Universitetas from Lithuania, managed to go as far as the last 16 teams, said Coleman.
“I think we are better prepared as we showed against FC Zurich of Switzerland in our last game,” Coleman said, referring to their previous fixture in the competition when they ousted their Swiss opponents with a 3-2 aggregate score, with the Namibian scoring all three goals.
