Court denys Sauyemwa man bail

RUNDU, 10 OCT (NAMPA) – A 22-year-old man who allegedly stabbed a 28-year-old man to death at a night club here on Sunday, has been denied bail.
Steven Gerhard Ndjamba was refused bail when he made his first appearance in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
The accused appeared before Magistrate Barry Mufana and Prosecutor Emma Mayavero, who strongly objected to the granting of bail because of the seriousness of the case as well for investigations to be thoroughly conducted.
Ndjamba was remanded in police custody with no option to post bail.
His case was postponed to 6 December 2017.
The Namibian Police’s Kavango East Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Bob Kanyetu upon enquiry on Monday told this agency that the accused and the deceased fought over a girl at a bar in Sauyemwa.
The deceased is alleged to have fought with a broken bottle while the suspect had a knife and both were under the influence of alcohol.
The deceased who was identified as Zaine Pascuate, was stabbed twice on the left side of his chest.The next of kin were informed about his death.
