SWAKOPMUND, 09 OCT (NAMPA) - A 23-year-old security guard allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with a work pistol here between 09h00 and 10h25 on Monday.
He was identified as Tjitjeja Hiiho, and was employed by Rubicon Security Services.
A police incident report issued by Detective Inspector Daniel Gurirab said Hiiho reported for duty in the morning and booked out a pistol.
He then asked a supervisor to drop him off at a local supermarket in the Mondesa residential area.
Gurirab said after a while the supervisor received a text message from Hiiho, stating: “I know we have been together for a while but do not think too much, just go and bury me”.
Hiiho left the supermarket and returned home, where he allegedly committed suicide.
The police said other texts he sent from his phone only indicate that he will kill himself, but do not provide any reasons.
His next of kin were informed.
Police investigations continue.
