OTJIWARONGO, 08 OCT (NAMPA) - A 16-year-old boy died instantly after he was stabbed in the neck at Okahandja’s Oshetu no. 3 informal settlement Saturday morning.
Acting Otjozondjupa Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner Moses Khairabeb told Nampa in an interview on Saturday Hannes Goagoseb was stabbed once in the neck at about 08h20.
“His next of kin have been informed,” he said.
Khairabeb said preliminary police investigations indicate that Goagoseb and a friend had an argument over a DVD player.
The suspect then allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed him.
Goagoseb died on the spot.
The suspect fled the scene and is yet to be apprehended.
Khairabeb said the suspect is known to the police as he was recently released from the Okahandja Police Station holding cells, where he was held in connection with a robbery.
Police investigations in the matter continue.
