Fourth National ICT Summit starts Monday

WINDHOEK, 05 OCT (NAMPA) – The fourth national Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Summit starts in Windhoek on Monday.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology on Thursday said the summit will be held under the theme ‘Leveraging ICT to unlock economic opportunities for an inclusive society’.
The three-day event is expected to bring together all industry stakeholders.
It will provide a platform for networking, awareness creation of ICT usage, projects and initiatives, as well as discussions on possible solutions to the trends and challenges faced by the industry in Namibia and globally.
The summit will feature national speakers on a wide array of trending topics within the ICT industry, while institutions of higher learning such as the International University of Management, the Namibia University of Science and Technology and the University of Namibia will exhibit ICT products, projects and innovations.
The last day of the summit will focus on youth ICT matters, with young innovators showcasing their projects.
“The summit will define a roadmap for development and effective integration of technology, as well as the agenda for growing ICT for an inclusive society,” the statement said.
It will also position ICT as a vital tool in achieving Government’s main national priorities of economic growth and development towards the goals of poverty eradication and shared prosperity for all Namibians.
