WINDHOEK, 04 OCT (NAMPA) – A 29-year-old man will appear in the Outjo Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday for stock theft.
Crime Investigations Coordinator of the Namibian Police Force in the Kunene Region, Deputy Commissioner Rudolf Kanyetu told Nampa Wednesday the suspect allegedly slaughtered a three-month-old kid in the complainant’s kraal at Farm Estorf on Tuesday around 11h00.
The suspect is alleged to have done this after the herder had gone to look after the goats in the field, leaving the young goats in the kraal.
He was allegedly seen by a neighbour who alerted the police.
“The whole carcass was recovered at the suspect’s house and he was arrested,” Kanyetu told Nampa.
Kanyetu thanked the community for alerting the police, saying “this is what we call neighbourhood watch”.
